Frequently Asked Questions

What satellite data sources does YerBak use?
YerBak uses multiple satellite data sources via Google Earth Engine: EU Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) for urbanization trends, Sentinel-2 for NDVI vegetation analysis, Dynamic World for land cover classification, VIIRS for nighttime lights, SRTM for terrain elevation/slope, and JRC Global Surface Water for flood risk assessment. All satellite data is free and comes from ESA Copernicus and NASA programs.
How are urbanization trends measured?
We use the EU Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) which tracks built-up area changes over 10 years using satellite imagery. Our reports show how the neighborhood has developed — whether it is a rapidly growing area (new construction, infrastructure expansion) or a stable established neighborhood. This helps investors gauge future growth potential.
What climate data is included in reports?
Climate data comes from Open-Meteo and includes monthly temperature averages (min/max), precipitation amounts, wind speed, and humidity. Reports also include the location's climate classification (e.g., Mediterranean, Continental, Tropical). Standard and Investment reports include a visual precipitation chart showing seasonal rainfall patterns.
How does the air quality analysis work?
Air quality data is fetched in real-time from Google Air Quality API (primary) with AQICN as fallback. Reports show the current Air Quality Index (AQI) on a 0-500 scale with health impact categories (Good, Moderate, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, etc.).
What does the Location Score tell me?
The Location Score is a composite metric (0-100) that weights Safety, Education, Transport, Environment, Livability, and Urban Development scores. It gives agents and buyers a single number to compare properties. Higher scores indicate better overall location quality. The score methodology is consistent across all 45 supported countries.
Can I use market analytics for investment property analysis?
Yes. Investment reports include enhanced analytics: urbanization trends (growth trajectory), environmental intelligence (terrain, flood risk), walkability/transit/bike scores, AI-generated executive summary, and pricing analysis with rental yield calculations. These metrics are specifically designed for property investment due diligence.
